I am overwhelmed… By gratitude, awe and joy…
I can confess to never losing respect for the science of yoga and the many facets that empower us, provide additional resources or uncover existing ones… it is a fascinating journey, however, sometimes I forget the sheer joy and amazement that can erupt… sometimes there can be too much logical appreciation…
The reminder to just feel the experience of yoga and reconnect with what the heart is saying is both profound and timely…
This beautiful expression was presented as a gift yesterday by two of my yoga students, the first who had never done yoga before was literally glowing after her first class, and the other, who has been doing yoga for some time, managed to get into Sarvangasana (shoulder stand) properly for the first time since she began yoga, again, child like excitement in her eyes at having unwrapped a posture to enjoy.
As I write this I am also filled with gratitude for my teachers who have helped pave the road and provided direction along the journey, special thanks to my first Iyengar teacher Jeannette Robertson, my Astanga teacher Jennifer Chapman, Christine Withiel who shared her knowledge, insights and passion for yoga when she trained me to become a Yoga teacher, and David Jacobs and Jurgen Meusel of Iyengar origin who through their deep and respectful knowledge reminded me again how important our ongoing practice is.
The impact of a teacher has no bounds, I continue to water the seeds you have planted, as I continue to plant the seeds :o)
Namaste to you all!
