- I’m not flexible, can I still do yoga?
All the more reason to do Yoga!
Every body has different degrees of flexibility, yoga allows you to start from where you are and make progress from there.
Sometimes flexibility is affected by tension, and through Yoga you will identify and eliminate much of this type of limitation through relaxation, other times it is physiological, and this can gently be improved through the postures.
- Is yoga a religion?
No! Yoga is a system that is rich in history and philosophy, sometimes, its origins and some philosophies are confused with religion. Yoga has no dogma or doctrine and no god specified. Yoga can however aid in deepening a practitioners personal belief system should they desire. through increased awareness of the many aspects of ones self, a more profound understanding about our inner selves as well as those around us can blossom, and through this our appreciation of the spiritual side of life can be enhanced.
- What do I bring with to my first class?
Just bring your mat (if you don’t have there are mats available for hire) and a willingness to open yourself up to the benefits of Yoga :o) Usually water is not taken during practice, but, you can bring some for afterwards if necessary.
